Personal Hygiene

PERSONAL HYGIENE: It can boost your morale to feel as fresh as possible but think twice before using much water for that purpose, if you have only brought 1 gallon per day. (This is a good reason for bringing extra water).  A large travel kit could work nicely for hygiene. Pre-moistened towelettes are so helpful in emergency conditions and don’t require “spending” your precious water supply.

The lack of privacy is a hindrance to personal hygiene, just as it is for sanitation needs.

Personal Hygiene Suggestions: 2 Wash clothes and perhaps a hand towel (to conserve space do not include a bath sized towel) -- for washing and drying, soap, hand sanitizer (small ones that fit in your pocket; include a refill bottle that stays in your main kit), anti-perspirant, dental items, tissues.  Medical grade lotion is invaluable to repair dry, cracked hands, nail clipper/file to repair jagged broken nails, several lip balms like Chapstick for pockets as a remedy for dry, cracked lips, use generously, breath mints, dry shampoo, maybe a few make-up items and remover, small mirror. Needle, thread, safety pins.
